Trinity united Methodist Church is very active in the Huxley community. In 2021 our church gave a $100 monthly donation to the Huxley Food Pantry; staffed the Clothes Pantry in February; donated 25 pounds of green beans, over 200 tomatoes, 15 pounds potatoes, 3 pounds carrots, and 2 pounds onions from our church garden to food panties; donated school supplies to the Clothes Pantry; supported disaster relief through UMCOR; provided 15 families with Thanksgiving meals; donated 2 turkeys to Hope Ministries; provided financial support and yard work for a local family in need; gave Christmas gifts to 9 local children and gifts to residents of the Madrid Home; and collected nonperishable food items for the Clothes Pantry. Trinity United Methodist Church as a Grantee “TUM Hands-Serving Others” works only with Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation and works on grant funds through Story County Housing Trust (SCHT). We work to keep eligible clients in their homes with safe environments. We work to replace windows, doors, HVAC, water heaters, entrance ramps or other needed home fixtures. We work on most homes including mobile homes and cover all of Story County with the support of Story County vendors. Since the original funding we have worked with approximately fifteen (15) clients here in Story County including Slater, Cambridge, Huxley, Nevada, Zearing, Roland and rural Story County. We have awarded funding of approximately $162,000 dollars we work for safe and affordable housing for our fellow Story County citizens. Let's do more!!
